In my 31 years of experience here, I recall that most snow events were NOT predicted. Tomorrow maybe one of those. NWS has 3-5" predicted for Mississippi between MCB & Jan, but none for areas farther to the south. I will not be surprised to see some measurable snow across the Northshore between 6-9 AM with some sleet (ice pellets) even on the Southshore. Once the upper low gets to our east by noon, any snow will leave and we should see some late clearing. If temperatures were a little colder, I could see several inches falling even south of Lake P. But that is not likely to happen. Should be an interesting morning!
Big warm up coming for the weekend!

Everyone be careful and allow yourself extra time if you have to travel- Most people in this area are not used to driving on icy roads, so watch out for the other guy-

Hi Bob. Great prediction that actually came true. As a long resident of New Orleans that was some solid snowfall for about 2 hours on the southshore. I remember you mentioning back in 1989 or something about the exact conditions that needed to happen for this to occur. The upper level low that forms and has to dig down into the gulf? Well, if you could re-educate what it takes for a good snowfall here in NOLA and exactly what happened yesterday that would be great. It seemed as though it was cold but not as cold as other times that I remember but it really snowed at a good pace this morning even though the temperatures were not below freezing on the south shore.
Thinking of you today and best wishes to a safe and successful surgury with a speedy recovery.
Come back soon, the weather is not the same without you in it.
I was looking forward to Global Warming. Oh well....
