Monday PM Flakes? Still Possible...

Model runs have been showing the same solution as yesterday. That is, low pressure will form south of the Louisiana Coast Sunday night bringing us soaking rains with thunder along the coast. As the low passes to our east on Monday, very cold air will pour southward on strong north winds. IF...IF wrap around moisture lingers, temperatures should be cold enough by 4-5 PM to see some snow flurries. It will not be like Dec. 11th, but I'm more concerned about freezing temps on both sides of the lake Tues & Wed mornings. Could be 20-25 N-Shore with 28-32 S-Shore.

In the short term...Friday will be breezy & cold with highs struggling to reach mid 50s. Much warmer Sat. PM after a chilly start. 28-32 NS, 31-35 SS. Next rain chance late Sunday PM after 4 PM. Love reading your research... keep them coming.

PROPHET~BOY,

I really dont appreciate this exaggerated mockery of me. I dont know who you are but you are a classic definition of a web troll. And thats why I usually dont comment/blog on WU because of the vast numbers of trolls. I like comming on here to have intelligent conversations with people on this blog and enjoy it. So please dont spoil this for me.

Bob can you please ban that troll.

It will certainly be intresting how this system plays out.
Who knows, AccuHype.com says this storm maybe stronger than the 1993 SuperStorm. My opinion is that they are rediculous like for example with Hurricane Bertha when they were projecting it in the gulf when it wasnt even past the leeward Islands! lol
For once im looking forward to Monday with the flurry potential.
Be back sometime tommorow.

Getting back to Comments made on the last blog...I don't remember 91 being a big snow year. I vaguely remember seeing very prin-prick flurries but it did not amount to anything...plus Andrew did not hit here, it passed to the south of us, albeit, it was a major hurricane.

It has to be coincedental that storms hit our area the year after is has snowed...when about every year there are named storms that affect our area.

I did like reading Only Reals comments on his research on the snow here in New Orleans...It seems like its snows here more in the last 40+ years than it did the first 60+ years dating back to 1900. Which begs the question did we have warmer winters back in the early 1900's?

Now we await the snow flurries!!!

Bourbon,

I personally love the snow even flurries. The 3 times I have seen snow I always enjoyed it until I couldn't feel my hands.

Only Real I agree. When it snowed back on Dec 11th, I didnt want it to end. I looked at radar and thought its going to snow for hours.

That snow fall was the most I have ever seen it snow. I was outside in it and I was soaking wet and my hand hurting building my pathetic looking snowman.

What hurt the snowfall that day was the rain that followed as the system moved out. It just pelted what had already covered the ground. And that not to mention we just didn't stay cold enough for it to stick around.

One other thing I have noticed with snow here was the Christmas Day snow and the Dec 11 snowfall were followed afterwards by warm temperatures for a couple of weeks.

We'll see what happens with this next system.

And I loved every minute of it...and didn't want it to end.
