More Freezes...Late Week Warm-up...

The highly amplified upper air pattern continues with a deep trough (cold) over the eastern states and a ridge (warm) over the West. Until that changes...and it will later this week...we'll continue to see cold fronts diving down into the Deep South. The next one arrives late this afternoon and it will turn us noticeably colder for Tuesday. With strong north winds, it's back to the heavy coats & jackets. This airmass is not nearly as frigid as the last one, but expect near freezing temps tomorrow morning on the Northshore with Wednesday morning's lows in the 23-27 range. Southsore should remain above freezing tonight (35-40) but could see a light freeze (29-33) on Wednesday morning. The warm up begins Wednesday PM and we'll see 65-70 on Thursday and 70+ on Friday.

Looking ahead...a more zonal (west to east) pattern develops for the last week of January into early Feb. so that'll make us milder with mainly Pacific fronts instead of the Arctic blasts we've been seeing for the past 2 weeks.

Hey Bob,

What the long range forecast for the 12 days during Mardi Gras time.

Its been dry for the most part and I feel that the weather pattern may change for this time...

Hmmmm.....

Usually when the upcoming pattern sets up thats when we start seeing the fun spring time severe weather we get every year that is associated with most fronts.
Lets see if we can handle this spring flood season with the poor political leadership we have in Jefferson parish a.k.a. Aaron Broussard.
Also this spring they will probaly need to open the Spillway again this spring with the well above normnal snowfall in the Midwest this winter.

Also the wether has been boring here latley with little exciting weather aside from the cold, but that will eventually change, but not in the next 10 days though.

Good Ole Coach Mora, he had the most memorible lines....he also said "You just dont know, you'll never know: speaking of sports media reporters...and of course the famous...would-a, could-a, should-a.

Yes I know its too early for a forecast...all I ask is for 1 dry day so I can ride in my parade and I am starting to get excited... I'm ready to ride.
