Post Surgery...Week 3

Hard to believe but it was 3 weeks ago that Dr. Savoie of Tulane operated on my torn left rotator cuff. Progress? Absolutely! I can now pull up my pants/underwear with both hands! I can now blow my nose with both hands! I can now get into shirts/sweaters that are not buttoned down the front. Still need help putting on a sportcoat or jacket, but I'm working on that. PT starts Jan. 12th and I'm told that will be very painful...but I return to FOX 8 on Monday after being off for 3 weeks. Are you ready for some Breck-casting? Like Arnold said...I'll be back!

Our current warm spell will last into early next week when a cooler pattern develops. The 2nd week in January gets even colder, but today it appears that snow will be unlikely as 1) all moisture will be swept far offshore and 2) the cold air will not be cold enough to support freezing precip. Stayed tuned as that still could change.

Enjoy listening to the GW comments. The way a nation/country sways opinions is to "brainwash" the young. (look at the terrorists & many Muslin countries) Our country's education system has presented our young with only the one side to GW. Many of the elementary science teachers have little or no background in science so they too are easily swayed. Our current cold winter is not something that just started. Remember, the hottest year was 1998. We have been on a down trend for 10 years. I'm glad ONLYREAL is willing to look at both sides. NASA's James Hansen(leading government expert on GW) was once pushing Global Cooling back in the 70's. What changed? It's all about MONEY...research money. I, like many, believe it is the sun and ocean currents that drive climate cycles. We'll see in the next several years who is right. The alarmists or the skeptics.

Thank You Bob,

The main problem is its not just some teachers but TWC and Al Gore exaggerate GW Theory, and the when the average person hears what they say about GW thats what they believe. Even if its incorrect.

I know your viewing audience is anxiously awaiting your return on Monday Jan.5th. Take it easy and don't overdue. Your day will come soon enough when you can "reach for the stars" AND swing that golf club.

ONLYREAL...what bothers me regarding GW is the intolerance of the alarmist. They are the only true "religion" and if you don't believe them, you're not going to heaven. Hummmm...I think I heard that before. Science should accept all theories until the REAL truth is known. Our new President has appointed all GW alarmists to his cabinet so expect lots of legislation(taxes) coming to stop GW, which man cannot do. The cycles correct themselves.

Thats very true,
The cycle will correct itself and it seems it may be begining to.
Another thought,
If the sunspots continue their absence the Atlantic may switch to its inactive phase. Woould'nt that be nice? Considering the levees almost breached again for a Cat.2!
In longer term though if the sunspots continue there absence do you think a mini-ice age similar to the 1400's-1600's is out of the question because thats what scientist say was the culprit for it?

Bob, I broke my neck in 94 in a construction accident and at the time couldn't move nothing at all when it first happened. I am in a wheelchair now but can move my arms and do shower/dressing etc. I know who nice it is to do the "small things" like brush your own teeth and put a shirt on. I've been thru lots of physical therapy and it's NO picnic to say the least but the rewards are worth it. Good Luck Take Care
