Parade Weather...one wet night?

It appears the advertized pattern shift will bring us only 3 rain chances over the next 7 days. The best(highest) chance happens with a cold front late Wednesday afternoon & evening. It will be sharply colder for Thursday & Friday, but zero chance for rain as the dry air comes back. Another front arrives late Saturday, but Gulf moisture will be limited so rain chances Sat. pm only 10-20%. Very Cold for Sunday & Monday but again zaro chance for rain. Carnival day will be warmer with rain chances going up late in the day, more likely after dark. All is all, if you don't mind the chill and dress for it, most parades will roll without rain.

Some freezing temps may return to the Northshore behind these next fronts. Don't plant the tomatoes yet!

Bob, kind of off the subject. Do you have any say as to the morning show with Chris Franklin? Why doesn't he show the 7 day forecast more often. That is the only reason I don't watch fox 8 in the mornings. My wife asked the same thing about the 7 day and she knows nothing about weather. We know it will change day to day, but we still would like to see it as often as possible in his weather segments. All of the other channels show it more often.

Caveman,

Its too early to make accurate predictions for Hurricane Season 2009 but the early signs do point to another active season, also I would like to note that I don't like the look of that snake of 80 degree waters in the Central Gulf.

Several topics here...Chris Franklin is on-air at the 8's...6:08 AM, 6:18 AM, 6:28 AM, 6:38 AM & 6:48 AM repeating that schedule at 7 & 8 AM. That's 5 times each hour. I know he has the 7 Day on the longer segments (at least twice/hour) but in the 1:15 segments, that's too brief for more than a satellite & radar loop, local temps plus a quick day part forecast. Since I don't watch the other channels like you do, I can't comment. I doubt Laura uses the 7 day each weather segment...but tomorrow I'll watch to see. Seems 2-3 times each hour is plenty.

Caveman...Hurricane Predictions? Playoffs? Did you say Playoffs? C'mon man, it's still February!

Only Real...most of the Gulf has cooled into the 70s. What you're seeing is the "Loop Current". No big deal. With more cold fronts coming (east coast trof returns), I wouldn't worry about water temps in Gulf until May at the soonest.
