Heat Wave Still Coming?

It sure looks like we'll be flirting with near record heat as we get into the weekend & much of next week as a large upper level high pressure ridge is forecasted to build over all of the Southeast. Temperatures under that ridge in south Texas today exceeded 100+ degrees. Nah, we won't get that hot but 95-98 is not out of the question. If you think this is unusual...wrong! Just 2 years ago we were hotter...97 at Audubon & 96 in Kenner. Get over it. We're in meteorological summer. It's supposed to be hot.

The tropics remain quiet as the east coast trough lingers on. Only 168 days left in Hurricane Season !

Woo hoo! Keep those tropics quiet Bob, I'm moving back to my rebuilt home of the beach in Gulfport (finally) next week!

I bet this Powerful Mid-Level Ridge
will allow the GOM to warm up nicely...

Good thing the Bermuda High is located farther east in the Atlantic than usual, or the Gulf would probably be more active.

Hmmm don't we have high pressure over us at the present time, which has been suppressing any afternoon showers. If the Gulf were active wouldn't this high block any moment toward us...

Pool temp was at a nice 86 degrees over the weekend...but Whew....95 for a high today....think I'll fry my eggs on the driveway....

Bob speaking of 168 Days....are you going to put up your countdown to the end of hurricane season as you have done in previous years???
