The Heat Goes On...the Heat Goes On...

Sonny & Cher had a hit record by that title back in the 70s and it will describe our weekend forecast. In a "typical" summer we have SE winds off the Gulf circulating around the Bermuda High off the eastern U.S. coastline. The year that high has been depressed far to the south by a persistent east coast trough and stalled upper ridge centered in Texas. The result is a mainly northerly flow that keeps us very hot and mostly dry. Climatologically we should see 40-50% coverage of scattered showers & T-Storms. This weekend our rain chances drop to 10-20% at best. So, unless you one of the lucky ones, you'll need to start watering the flowers & lawns...again.

This time a year ago we already had 2 named storms. Long range computer models indicate no signs of tropical activity for the next 7-10 days or longer. Enjoy your weekend, but use common sense if you're gonna be outside in the heat.

I believe the Sonny & Cher hit was "The Beat Goes On"... But I agree with you, the heat does go on and on.

Al Gore getting sued...now that is funny. If so...will he be found guilty? Depends on whether or is it weather the jury believes GW to begin with?

Want to thank my kids for breaking my thermometer for the pool, not surprising though, the 3 of them had no clue on how it got broke...

Last I checked the water temp hovered around 89. Warm enough I tell you...

I think this weather can be summed up best by Kool & The Gang: "Too Hot".
