Named Storms are coming...

Just looking at satellite loops tonight, one would guess NHC will name Ana and Bill this weekend. If that doesn't happen, then we need to start thinking what is going on this year that no storms seem able to get going. El Nino? Maybe, but the shear has slackened the past couple of days. Too much dust & dry air? Possibly combined with strong easterly trade winds. Whatever it is, let's hope it hangs around. Long range computer models continue to develop a major hurricane for next weekend, flip-flopping each run where it might go. Let's see what happens during the next 2-3 days.

In the short term, a strong tropical wave will move into the eastern Gulf on early Sunday bringing us increasing chances for rain Sunday into Monday. Tides & Winds will also kick up making offshore boating dangerous for several days. Stay up on the weather reports this weekend. I'll have another update late Saturday.

Ana has been named. There are 2 right behind her. Is it time to get worried. No, I don't think so, but I will keep prepared for the worst, and pray for the best. I will also keep listening to you Bob!

Bill looks like its projected to recurve.
Ana will enter the GOM.
Invest 91 is pointing right at us according to the BAMM model but there is very little model tracking info out yet...
All from the Dr. Masters site but wow...I guess its time to get water, food and batteries tomorrow in case we get something quickly that isn't evacuation worthy like a Cat 1.
