Blame It On Global Warming !

Because the oceans are getting hotter (government findings) we were to see more frequent and stronger hurricanes. This year we are seeing fewer and weaker storms. (El Nino) What's happening? Global warming...as hot, dry air moving off of Africa has stablized the tropical Atlantic. Huh? Yep, more storms...global warming...few storms...global warming. They have it both ways. Today's ICECAP.US has a good discussion regarding the government's claim that the ocean's are hotter than ever. It all goes back to MONEY & POWER. Keep reading like I do and you'll find more data that contradicts NOAA,NASA & other government agency's agendas regarding global warming.

In the short term, the stalled area of low pressure is now on the move...but rather slowly. it will drift nearer to us on Friday increasing our rain chances before lifting northward over Sat & Sun. that should mean a mostly dry weekend.

In the long term, next week's cold front is delayed. The dip in the jet stream earlier forecasted to form over the east is now projected to be over the west. That keeps us in SW flow stallinbg any front before they reach us. The next real front won't arrive until the first week in October. Boo !

Manmade CO2 is causing elevated ocean surface temps? Couldn't possibly be low storm activity and calm seas leading to reduced surface mixing. NAAAHH! It's obviously my car that's doing it! Whatever happened to Occam's Razor?

Geez, how can the forecast change that quickly...the last blog you had a real cool front for Tuesday and now its not coming this way...

We always get the short stick. :-(

Oh Bob. I love you but. Just because we're not getting monster storms this year doesn't mean global warming isn't a scientific fact. To think so is to be incredibly self-centered/myopic. The WORLD is being horribly affected by rising temperatures that are directly linked to how human beings abuse our planet and its resources. Animals and plant life are suffering horribly because of human beings' affect on nature. Just look to the south of us to see the communities being devastated by the erosion of the wetlands. That will have long term affects on the future of Louisiana/the country that we will be dead for but they'll be happening regardless. Living in LA I would think you would be more responsible about your "conspiracy theories". Your audience is, after all, next when it comes to who is going to be driven out of homes and communities because of how we have affected the weather. Just cuz it's not happening graphically and horribly THIS year doesn't mean it isn't still happening. BIG PICTURE, Bob, it's much more important than it raining or not this weekend.

R4A..."self centered/Myopic"? Why? I NEVER said I didn't believe in GW...I also believe in GC (Global Cooling). The history of this planet is one of CYCLES/NATURAL VARIABILITY and, sure man has harmed it (deforestation/urbanization) to some extent, but to say "horribly affected" is buying into the agenda of those who's income/jobs depend on government funding. I believe I am "more responsible" presenting both sides of the argument rather than just the government's. Finally, we are entering the natural cycle of an El Nino that causes temperatures to be warmer than normal. It's the arrogance of man that thinks man can stop the natural cycles of Mother Earth. Minimize your usage/wastes because it's the right thing to do, not because it will stop the planet from warming or cooling. I'll have more on why warming is BETTER than cooling in a later blog.

Just my 2 cents...

Man-made Global Warming is all hype and has caused a big scare thanks to Al Gore. Sure humans may have an impact on ones local climate, but for one to say humans can throw the world wide weather out of wack is nonsense. What bothers me is that all the Global Warming extremists say will be doomed if we don't stop CO2 emissions, again nonsense. Last time I checked C02 does not even take up 1% of the atmosphere! Even if the Earth were to miraculously warm slightly from C02 emissions we would not be doomed like the extremists are crying wolf about. The TRUTH is that life thrives and is prosperous in warm climates. But of course the GW extremists don't want you to know that because then they would not get any government funding. Man-made Global Warming is all hype and is just a story/lie to scare people into handing over the money(taxes) and to scam the gov't into giving funding. You know what they say..."Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story".

R4A, it's interesting you mentioned our disappearing wetlands. In a way you're right, but not how you think. Our useless pursuit of global warming science has caused billions to be diverted away from truly worthy environmental causes like groundwater cleanup, better recycling techniques, and wetlands restoration. Poor land use and bad policy caused these problems and now bloated global warming budgets siphon money and attention away from fixing them. You claim to be concerned about our environment, yet you're willing to see our oceans, lakes and coastlines destroyed while we pursue an non-problem. The corporations and governments have bamboozled you with a fantasy, a red herring, while they ravage our planet and exploit the undeveloped world right under your nose. WAKE UP!

Is it possible that what we have witnessed over the last 20 years or so with global warming just a normal cycle of the earth and mother nature? And are we now seeming to be going through a pattern of global cooling? Can we say that that earth has went through these cycles many times before?

Man with all this technology can study the earth, its changes and its atmosphere and develop theories as to what causes such cycles? Not to mention it involves the Gov't to force more taxes on us, thinking it can save the earth. Should our Gov't find a way to tax China, Japan, Europe, Australia, Russia and Africa too...or is just us causing the problem?

If these cycles are say normal for earth, is there anyway man can stop these cycles from happening? And if man starts fooling with Mother Nature what will be consequences??? Like I have heard man has developed something(I forget what) that can kill a hurricane in its path...for lack of better words...So if we do this, does this stop another hurricane from forming and being stronger? Isn't a Hurricane a natural event the balances the forces of the earth???

I remember hearing some time ago that we went through a period of 20-25 years of low hurricane activity and forecasters warned that the cycle could be changing? Well these past 10 years have been fairly active, haven't they. Is this not another cycle for the earth?

After saying all this...I sure hope that man or mother nature doesn't prevent me from watching the Saint game which starts in about 45 minutes...GO SAINTS!!!

@ Bourbon 2-0, yes?? I don't get much into the Global Warming Debate as seeing some get really heated and those in MY circle don't really know enough to get heated. Imagine 15 yr olds arguing over a President being a good choice. But if I have caught your tone correct, I do agree. We should not think that we can mess with nature. We do so much already just being in the evolved state that we are, pollution, deforestation, and such, it would be dumb for us to try to control Earth as we would have it. Nature seems to do a pretty good job without our interference. Let Hurricanes come, it really is not our planet and ecosystem to be messing with to begin with.
