We Are Safe For Another Year !

If you missed my broadcast on FOX 8 tonight, I decided to say what no one seems to have the courage to say...that the 2009 Hurricane Season is over for Louisiana ! Why? After watching Jim Cantore, Dr. Steve Lyons and Tom Moore on TWC explain why it has been such a quiet season and that there are NO SIGNS that the strong westerly shear will go away...Jim asked the experts if the season is over. Neither would say yes since they deal with a much wider audience. But I decided to take a stand, based on sound meteorological science that indicates cold fronts will keep coming. In addition, IF anything did form down in the Gulf, those strong west winds would steer it away from us and over to Florida's west coast. We are home free from any major tropical threat this season. I will continue to monitor the tropics, and IF something does develop that might be a threat to us, I'll blog about it well in advance.

In the short term, the strongest cold front since last May will sweep away the muggies for the next 3 days. With much drier air, it will feel delightful during the day and comfy cool at night.

Bob,

I thought "global warming" would bring us MORE and BIGGER hurricanes.

And, what if he have an even colder winter than we had last year?

Would the bag of tricks of the "global warmies" be slowly emptying?

If we have a colder winter they would be saying the climate is counter balancing the summer warmth with colder winters!!!

I had a horrible dream last night. I saw the GULF OF MEXICO as a steaming pot which bore no steam but was upwelling water from the depths. I saw the shoreline slowly give way as I began to run for higher ground. I saw in my dream a professor trying to explain hurricanes' origins as this was happening. Myself and those with me running were soon separated as my friend went in another direction and stood still in fear.

Matt, did you have pizza last night?

no, I don't eat pizza. Bad for the digestive tract. I take my dreams seriously. They are the reason I'm still alive.

Hey Bob,

Please remind everyone, when the temperature begins to drop, how miserable they were during the blazing heat of summer. For them to stop complaining and wear a jacket if they are cold.

Hoping for a wonderful fall !!!!
