How'd We Live Without?

I was away this weekend and was without any internet access. Geez, have you ever left your cell phone at home and gone off on an errand or to work? Yep, that's what we've come to depend on...instant access, instant connectability. Without it, one feels helpless. Which I ask myself, how did we ever live without all the gadgets. Life was simpler, but not as much fun back when!

Enjoy reading the blogs sharing ideas. I finally was able to see computer models again this evening and we will finally get Fall weather in here during the day on Friday making for a pleasantly cool(sweaters & jackets needed) and dry weekend with plenty of sunshine. October is historically our driest month, but that won't be the case this year. In fact, we have 3 more days of scattered storms that could produce another 1-3" on top of what fell today. If El Nino is truly strengthening, this wet pattern we've been in since early September could continue into 2010. We are entering our Fall severe weather season where cold fronts often produce squall lines of heavy T-Storms. Storms ahead of Friday's front could be strong so pay attention to the weather for the next few days. I'm back on-air tomorrow.

I think I can handle a couple of more rainy days. It'll be interesting to see what that front can spark up. Looks like there will be ample moisture a some wind shear for it to work with. It will probably just a line of strong thunderstorms with gusty winds being the main threat. But overall the severe threat looks minimal for our area. After that... The front moves through sometime Friday and allows us to have a spectacular weekend. With Highs in the Upper 60's/Low 70's and Lows on the SS in the Low 50's(upper 40's?) with the Northshore in the Low 40's. With an isolated area dropping into the 30's? I am really looking forward to this weather, I am getting really tired of this Heat & Humidity.

Good to see again you again, though I am becoming a big fan Nicondra! I'm with Onlyreal and I can agree to a couple more days of muggy rain.

The NWS is being conservative as usual bringing the North Shore only into the 40's and the South Shore in the 50's. I'm not buying it. The models are showing temperatures a couple degrees lower and have been consistent on this solution. The way things look right now the coldest night will be be Sunday Night. I think the south shore should drop into the upper 40's and areas from a line from Zachary,LA to Amite,LA, to Bogalusa,LA have a shot of getting into the upper 30's. I am really looking forward to this first shot of true cold air.

Don't get too carried away with the cold air south of Lake P. ONLYREAL. Lake P. water temp is 78 degrees. Record lows Sun & Mon. 43 & 44. I just don't see record cold. Maybe 48 S-Shore away from Lake P?

Oh I am so ready for cold weather, from getting outside in it to opening the windows and let it all in....

St. Edward's Fair is this weekend and I know my kids will enjoy the great weather. They have had such great luck with the weather.

It will be nice going to the Saints game on Sunday with that football air in place....and then seeing Crazy Bob give his 20 sec forecast. Go Saints.
