Cold Takes A Break, But Not For Long...

After a freezing start today, highs recovered into the lower 60s and Monday might be slightly warmer ahead of our next shot of cold air. Look for showers to develop during the day continuing into Tuesday before an area of low pressure develops over the eastern Gulf and pulls away. Cold air follows for the rest of this week, although the cold looks to be no worse than what we had this weekend. Looking 7-10 days out finds the upper east coast trough firmly established keeping the cold air machine working big time. The January cold spell over much of the country will spill over into February.

On a side note, watching the fans in Chicago and Pittsburgh reminded me why I hated Winter up north. I had to go make me some hot oatmeal because just watching the game gave my body the chills!
