Pattern Shifting to Colder...Yikes !

Tonight's model runs are agreeing with this morning's...the coldest air of this winter season is coming for next week. The good news is the air currently in Central & Eastern Canada is NOT brutally (-30 to -40 below) frigid, but zero to 20 below is still plenty cold. Highs may struggle to get into the 40s with night in the 20s( some teens Northshore) so be forewarned.

In the short term, cooler and drier air will sweep away the low clouds and fog for Thursday. If you're dressed for it, it'll be a much better day than Wednesday. Friday will be a little milder (mid 60s) that will last into Saturday before a Gulf low will cruise to our south on Sunday giving us a cold rain with temps in the 50s. After that, it's heavy coat weather next week. Burrr!

Note...no mention of the white stuff here! But that could change. Stay tuned!

so Bob, how far to the south does a Gulf Low have to be in order to bring a chance of snow to the Northshore Area? I noticed the NWS has 50% chance of sleet for McComb Sunday Night... How far south could the wintry mix go for this go around? What does your "gut" say?
