Winter Has Legs...

Today's 67 degrees was the warmest in 10 days. Don't get use to it as several fronts are coming that will bring back the heavy weather gear. The first, weaker front arrives late Tuesday PM with a few showers followed by a brief cool down on Wednesday. Thursday warms a little before a much stronger surge of arctic air returns Thursday night into Friday morning. Tonight's VIPIR model run turns some of the rain to snow on the North Shore after midnight Thursday night into early on Friday. Friday's highs will be 20 degrees colder than Thursday's staying in the 40s with strong north winds. Freezing temperatures could return Saturday and Sunday mornings on both sides of the Lake. All of the above depends on a return of the deep east coast upper trough. We'll know more tomorrow if the models show some consistency. Get those snow making machines ready for this weekend !

I hope it snows for everyone that wants it. Maybe we will start a slow warming trend after this weekend. I've got spring on my mind...

I have a trip to Lafayette this weekend, leaving Friday at noon. Is there any chance of snow or icy roads from New Orleans to Lafayette. I won't be driving home till SUnday noon.

Noo spring Wiley. Booo.

It is too warm here most of the year. While I don't want to freeze to death, I want to enjoy the cold while we still have it
