So This Is Spring?

Yikes! Been out tonight? With a 20+ mph north wind, you need a jacket or sweater. What's up? Global Warming? Nah...just a deep east coast trough that has chilled half of the U.S. with an unusually late Fall-like cool spell. Enjoy it because you know what's coming in just a few days. We won't feel this good again until October.

In the short term, the next 2 mornings will be chilly(40s N-Shore,50s S-Shore) but bright sunshine will quickly warm things up by midday. By Thursday, south winds will be back and the warm up will begin. The muggies will be back big time by Friday and we could see our first 90 later this week. Like I said above, enjoy our current cool down !

Bob,

I heard last night that this has been one of the worst allergy seasons due to more pollen from blooming as a result of the record rainfalls (and I would assume snowfall). Not that global warming is involved here, but would it make sense that INCREASED foliage from increased plant growth would counteract some effects of greenhouse gases? I haven't read anywhere that average temps this past winter were lower than usual, but it seems that the record rain and snowfalls and NOW lower temps are not consistent with any global warming trend.

Can we attribute any of these weather patterns to GW (or the opposite) or is it just strange weather anomalies that occur from time to time?

Funny CRAIG, this is the 1st season in memory where allergies have NOT affected me. When you start linking GW with any weather event, you join the "consensus". Cold Winter...must be GW. More snow...must be GW. April tornadoes...must be GW. Allergies...must be GW. Cubs keep losing...must be GW !
