Al Gore Rants Again...

Yep old Al is dumping on another guy he feels is not doing enough to stop Global Warming. Who Dat? None other than our President, who Al feels has betrayed the crusade, err, the movement to stop climate change. I would agree with Al if he just wasn't pushing things that will make him lots of money. Some call him a good businessman. Others believe he's an ex-politician with pull. Whatever. I believe it's called a conflict of interest...a guy pushing for laws on us that will make him rich. Laws that will hurt the poorest of the poor.

Our recent rainy spell(4 days) is about to end for 4-5 days. This weekend looks like mid to upper 90s will return as rain chances go down to less than 10%. Looking ahead into next week finds rain chances going up after Wednesday as a tropical wave moves across the southern Gulf.

Nice take down of Al here:

My favorite line:

"he shares an illusion common amongst the narcissistic glitterati of our time: that politically fashionable virtue cancels private vice"

So how does he make money?

As a former politico person, he has influence over what types of legislation/laws get passed. Example "Cap & Trade". So Al helps form/is a partner in a company (a brokerage) that would benefit if that law would pass. It's not illegal. Look at Billy Tauzin...he helped pass laws that helped drug companies. Then he's hired by them. Not illegal, just immoral.

Wouldn't selling coffee mugs for $15.00 also be a little immoral unless proceeds go to charity?

Why Franklin? Geez, did the rest of you miss the point too? I can't influence/pass a law that forces you to buy my products. My point is there are those(Al Gore) who can influence the legislation process forcing us to purchase products that enrich them. Light bulbs being a classic example. That is wrong. I don't force anyone to purchase my products. I'm glad some of you do and I thank you.

I bought one.

What law has he influenced that was passed that he has made money off of?
