Finally a Rainy Spell...

Our recent prolonged dry spell has caused our yearly rain deficit to approach a foot. Today's interstate fire clearly shows how dry we are as the likely starter was a tossed cirgarette. The next 2-3 days will help some as computer models are predicting 2-4" of rain over a widespread area of south Louisiana. An added bebefit will be not as hot due to increased cloud cover. But don't get use to it as we could be back into a mini heat wave as soon as this weekend.

The tropics remain quiet in the Atlantic which is not unusual.
