Franklin Forming? Gert to Follow?

Satellite loops indicate 2 systems way out in the Atlantic off of Africa are becoming better organized. If history holds true to form, we will have multiple storms to track during the next 7-10 days as we enter the Heart of Hurricane Season. The weakness in the Bermuda high should mean any storm recurves to the north well east of Florida. But even if a system stays farther to the south and moves across the Caribbean, the persistent upper ridge over the northern Gulf should steer anything well to our south and west (lower Tx/Upper Mexico). Way to early to begin guessing. Remember, until a storm gets strong and well defined, computer models struggle predicting where it will go. Stay tuned!

In the short term...Way too hot and mostly dry until Sunday.

Where do they get some of these names for storms? What's wrong with Joe,Mary,Keith,etc.etc..? Gert? Is that short For Gertrude? Come on guys.. Or is it just me?

Wild guess, but the most likely answer is that the more familiar names have been retired over the years.

Bob, I would like to thank you for not CONSTANTLY stating the "feels like" temp like all the other stations are doing. It seems to me like people are acting like we've NEVER been this hot before, which I think is false, but you know that better than I... I also think it's to keep the "global warming/climate change" going, as many many more are realizing that "facts" for that were false are smudged. :)

Wiley would be a good name for a storm but I would hope we never get that far :D I've written in and suggested many names but have yet to see any of them used.

NOAA has a 6 or 7 lists that they just rotate through each season, most names are not just picked out of the air most really have been choosen for a reason.

Fact: Icebergs are melting and have been for many decades, the problem is that melting has increased drastically.

Going to start getting fun soon!

Hey Caveman.. Un plug your freezer, and watch what happens.. At first, the ice really melts slow.. As there is less ice, it defrosts at a faster pace. We all know that the Earth is warming(has for millions of years cooled and warmed).. the question is, did the ant pile (humans) screw up the entire one acre (Earth)? I think not.. We are too small for that bro. Your smarter than this, get off tha koolaide.

Caveman gets off on fearmongering.

Explain the rapid increase in melting then? Like I said they have been melting for decades but the rate has increased drastically.
