Finally Some Rain ?

Our current dry spell is at day 9, but there are signs that some much needed moisture will spread westward from Florida and head across the Gulf into Louisiana by Wednesday. It won't last long as an upper high will build back over us for Saturday and Sunday making the final 2 days of Jazz Fest mostly dry and hot.  Tuesday should be day 10 without rain, although there could be a few PM showers develop south of New Orleans.  Better rain chances arrive on Wednesday(60%) and linger into Thursday(40%) with lower chances (20%) on Friday.

I was reading a national story on the huge increase in people buying "safe rooms" for their houses after last Spring's killer tornadoes.  Hopefully that same mind set is present here in south LA/MS regarding preparing for Hurricane Season.  Does your home have shutters to protect your windows?  Do you have enough supplies for a week if a big storm knocks out power?  Yada, Yada, Yada.  You know the drill.  Hurricane season begins in one month.
