Summer-like May Storms...

Today we had a tale of 2 sides of the street, or city if you prefer.  PM T-Storms built up in the vertical to 40,000+ feet(8 miles) while in many locations they were only 1-2 miles wide.  Consequently one neighborhood would get an inch of rain in 30 minutes while less than a mile away folks got nada.  There were some areas (Terrebone & LaFourche) where the storms were more widespread & the rain totals much higher(2-4").  The upper disturbances that caused the storms are pulling away to the east so little, if any, showers should be around the next 2 days.   More typical PM storms return for Saturday & Sunday.

Computer models are still hinting that an early season storm could form east of FL and/or the Carolinas next week.  Stay tuned!
