Isaac Sucks! Little movement...

It's bad enough to deal with a tropical system, but one that stalls and keeps the hammer down is terrible!  The eye of Isaac is 90% on shore West of Pt. Fourchon and just south of Houma.  Any movement is WNW at 2-3 mph...basically stationary...not good.   Feeder bands are rotating around the center and storm total at FOX 8 has reached 7.54", 5.61 since midnight.  This slow movement will result in storm totals in excess of 15".  Several parishes have declared curfews and no one should be out sight seeing as winds are still gusting to 60+ in the City and 80+ down south along the coast.  Later this afternoon, Isaac MAY start moving WNW at 5-8 mph but it will take all day before any improvement comes to our weather.  East winds are piling water into Lake P. and those winds should turn more SE during the day and southerly over night.  That will force higher water levels from the South Shore to the North Shore tonight.  Don't look for lower water levels until late Thursday.  Stay hunkered down, stay safe, stay tuned!

I am at home riding the storm out and watching Channel 8. Just want to say you guy are doing a great job...you have been on a long time now.

Luckily we still have power...we have our fair share of damage though. Looks like weight of a soaked tree has split the tree in half and part is in my pool and the other half is in the neighbors yard...lucky again that it didnt hit the house...Once again fence damage.

Winds are still kicking up here in Metairie as well as the rain...we are hunkered down and riding this out....

NHC performed well on this system. Not hyping it up as a major hurricane etc.. telling it like it really was.
