Denting the Drought...

For the past several weeks, much needed mositure has fallen over the heart of the Central Plains, but much more is needed.  Take a look at the Miss. River gage in Cairo, Ill.where 2 weeks ago the level approached flood stage of 40 feet.  Today it's some 13 feet lower!   Keep the storms coming whether it be rain or snow as there's plenty of room for snow melt this year.

Locally, another cold front will sweep thru during the early PM hours on Tuesday.  NWS is putting rain chances at 20-30% with amounts less than .25".  We'll be warm in the morning (70s) falling into the 60s by late PM and into the 40s by Wednesday morning.  N-Shore will again be near freezing but this cold spell will not be as strong as this past weekend's.  A warm up Friday will continue thru the weekend.
