Dolly is Soon On Stage...

Satellite loops tonight clearing indicate a developing/strengthening/organizing Tropical Depression over the Southern Gulf.  NHC is confident that a slow intensification will allow for an upgrade to Tropical Storm Dolly on Tuesday.  All models show a NW track that will bring the system on to the Mexican coast and not be a threat to the northern Gulf.    There is another tropical system out in the Pacific that will bring tropical flooding rains to Arizona later this week.   I'm sure network news programs will cover the flooding in excess, but like TD 5/Dolly, it's not our problem.     Until Dolly forms, we still have ZERO named storms anywhere around the Globe.  What is going on?   My take is simple.   The Tropical Pacific saw several major Typhoons a few weeks back.  Too too the Eastern Pacific saw several cat 4 & 5s.   The purpose of tropical systems is to maintain the heat balance of the Planet taking the heat from the Equator regions northward to the Polar Regions.   Mother Nature is just taking a well deserved rest.   I still look for a burst of Tropical Activity on the Atlantic side during the next 3-4 weeks.   Until the Fall cold fronts starts coming (no signs of one yet), we need to maintain our guard as some of Louisiana's strongest storms have come during Seeptember.   Stay tuned!
