Same Planet, Different Tropical Seasons

While we are enjoying the quietest Atlantic Hurricane Season since 1986, the Eastern & Western Pacific have been getting hammered time & time again.  The eastern Pacific is up to the S Storm (Simon) while the west Pac is now on their V storm (20+).  Super Typhoon Vongfong is a Cat. 5 with winds sustained near 180 mph.  It could become a real threat to Okinawa & Japan during the next 2-3 days.  It will not surprise anyone as the alerts have gone out warning everyone of the danger.   Fortunately, we only have to deal with late season warmth as an upper ridge builds over us.  This will keep rain chances near zero and temps flirting with 90 for the rest of this week.
