From Severe to Clear

Wow!  What a weather day with widespread showers & storms on both sides of Lake P.   Watching VIPIR this afternoon clearly indicated the tornado that 1st touched down near Amite and became deadly over Columbia, MS.   SPC had us in the slight risk area last night & the local office of NWS issued warnings well in advance of the tornado touching down.  The lesson learned here is…always be on alert BEFORE warnings are issued.  Usually winter tornadoes move very quickly offering little time to react & take cover.  Let’s hope we don’t have many more of these outbreaks.

Colder air will bring a real holiday feel for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.  While it will not be white, it sure will be bright!  Merry Christmas Gang.   The little fella will take his usual Holiday break to recharge the batteries.   Hopefully 2015 will bring everyone more good cheer.  Happy New Year !

hey bob, what's your gut feeling about the potential winter weather coming south for around the New Year? just curious what you thought... I know how the models don't really pick up on gulf systems til a few days before anyway... some of the GFS model runs were putting it REALLY cold here...
