With 3 days left in February, one would think the daily higher sun angle would start to show up in warmer temperatures. The upper pattern that has kept the east & south cold does show signs of shifting, but not until next week. Another cold surge is tumbling down the front range of the Rockies and will re-enforce the current chill we already have. “Normal” highs should be in the upper 60s but we’ll stay 15-20 degrees below that Thursday & Friday. The eastern upper trough will finally shift and dip over the western states by Sunday allowing warmer air to stream back over us. Highs by Monday & Tuesday will be back into the 70s before a weak front arrives next Wednesday. Until we get deeper into March, I expect we’ll see several more rounds of chilly weather.
Looking at Boston tonight…they are less than 6 inches from breaking their all time snowiest Winter ever. They should easily shatter that during the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned!
