Heat Wave Coming...

While news of “extreme heat “ over parts of Europe get all the media attention, the lack of heat across the United States today was stunning.  From Denver to Chicago to Detroit,  Many cities  never got out of the 60s and tonight they’re in the 50s.  Locally, we have yet to reach 95.  Compare that to the summer of 2011 when we already reached or topped 95 TWENTY times!   As an upper level high pressure slides across us the next 3-4 days, we’ll see our rain coverage go way down allowing for high temps to soar into the mid to upper 90s.  Record heat?   Not even close.   Not sure if NWS will issue any heat advisory, but everyone should take the usual summer heat precautions (stay hydrated, where light colored clothes & a hat & use sunscreen).    The Tropics are dead for now in our part of the world while the Western Pacific is going nuts with 3 typhoons.   Stay tuned!
