Slow Time Of Year...

Since New Orleans doesn’t have a baseball team, this time of the year is considered dead by our sportscasters.  They struggle to find anything to talk about and are waiting for Saint’s training camp to open in 3 weeks.   Weatherwise, it’s kinda the same where I try to find something different to talk about other than it’s hot, it’s humid with a few PM Storms.   I’m not looking for any tropical systems to form so I have something to track.  Rather, I’m looking ahead to September cold fronts that will bring us relief from our daily heat.    Historically, a real strong cool front doesn’t come until late September, but my water oaks are already putting out acorns (not sure what that means?) and signs of a strengthening El Nino are everywhere.   Hey, can you tell I have nothing to talk about?   It’s the weather doldrums…but that is not all bad.   Stay tuned!

Here's one for the GW alarmists. According to Prof. Valentina Zharkova at the National Astronomy Meeting in Llandudno, Wales, we are headed for a mini ice age starting between 2020 and 2030 due to the sun becoming unusually inactive. The effect is known as the 'Maunder minimum' - which has previously been known to occur between 1646 and 1715, even causing London's River Thames to freeze over. Interesting!
