Heat Wave Coming...

After the second hottest July on record, August is continuing that tread as the next 5-7 days will be mostly dry and very hot.  Last week’s upper ridge retreated into Texas allowing for some cooling showers to form over us.  But that ridge is heading back our way.  That should result in near record or record breaking heat Friday thru next Tuesday.  I have us flirting with 100 degrees beginning Friday thru Tuesday with most record highs around 97.     NWS is likely to issue daily heat advisories as the heat index will top 105-110.  Yikes.   Common sense will be required if working or playing outdoors.  No children left in cars, nor pets left outside without water.   The Tropics remain quiet in our part of the world as we approach what is, historically, the most active time of the year for the next 6-7 weeks.   I’ll start feeling better once October arrives.  Stay tuned!

It happened AGAIN this evening.... VIOLENT, NASTY Lightening storm popped up OUT OF NO WHERE at about 9pm over here in Slidell.... Seems like the last 2 months, when we get the summer T storms, THEY ARE LATE IN THE EVENING.... If they are from DAYTIME HEATING, WHY are they popping up AFTER DARK?!?! Ive lived down here my entire life, and have never seen them this violent after dark....! Come on, Bob.... you gotta have an opinion or some words of wisdom!
