3 Peat still on Track...

For the 3rd straight weekend, we will see some significant rainfall.   How much?   After what happened over Morgan City today (3-4”) kind of indicates our rain potential for Saturday as tropical moisture surges out of the Gulf and interacts with a slow moving cold front.   We’re likely to see the “training effect” set up for several hours and that will produce1-3” of rainfall with some spots getting up to 4-5”.  Obviously, that would cause some street flooding so we need to pay attention tomorrow.  Finally some cooler air arrives Saturday night into Sunday putting an end to our record warm temps (86 at MSY) and chasing away the rain.    If we’re lucky, Sunday could see some late sunshine.  Not a pretty weekend.   And duck season opens at dawn on Saturday.  Problem?  Need cold air up north to drive ducks down south.   Not happening yet.  Stay tuned!

Always seems when we are in an El Nino weather pattern, we get that SW flow and we have a hard time get cold air driving south to us...I think we are seeing that now as most of Oct and so far in November has been warm...with no cool air....It is said we will have a colder and wetter...so far we have just seen the wet, but these past weekends

My other gut tells me as you have said you look for weather patterns...and seems when we have July and August cool fronts as we did this past year...that cool weather takes its time coming again...

Anyway this is my vent for some cooler fall like weather....we could use it.
