Another front coming...

Even though I’m not a cold weather geek, I kinda enjoyed this past weekend of bright sunshine and the crispy cool air.   That feeling was gone before daybreak today as the south winds rapidly brought back clouds, warmer air & the Gulf Muggies.   Highs soared into the 70s & may stay there for Tuesday, but another front will bring back the need for heavy coats for Wednesday and Thursday.   Our rain days will be Tuesday into early Wednesday before we dry out for this weekend’s parades.    With Family Gras in Metairie, it should be a great start for the bigger Carvinal events.

My friend Joe D’Aleo with Weatherbell Analytics provided this tidbit about this past weekend’s blizzard.   “ Predictably there is talk that this was the result of global warming.  They forget the IPCC, UCS & NOAA in their reports for the EPA had predicted snow would disappear saying…winters are becoming warmer and less snowy.  These changes are consistent with global warming.”      Huh?    More blizzards due to global warming, but less snow due to global warming.   In reality, Joe says “  The fact is the snows occur in colder regimes.  December was warm and SNOWLESS.  January has turned cold and snowy.   Could it be weather CYCLES?      My thinking?   If the Cubs win the World Series next Fall, it must be global warming !!!
