Let the Party Begin !

Most folks outside New Orleans think Carnival is just Mardi Gras or just the “big 3” parades + Mardi Gras.   Oh so wrong doubloon breath!   This Friday starts a weekend of 21 parades all around the city with the action picking up again next Wednesday increasing through Fat Tuesday.   It really is 2 weekends of parade partying.  Mother Nature is cooperating for the first weekend as the next 4 days should be dry.  A warming trend begins Friday with highs in the 60s, nearing 70 on Saturday and 70+ for Sunday.    Our next rain chance won’t arrive until late Monday with Tuesday looking stormy at times.   Since weather runs in cycles, we could see a repeat for the following weekend.  Way to soon to guess about Mardi Gras…but then again…why not.   Next Thursday-Saturday look dry with another system coming late Sunday into Monday that could threaten those parades.  Marid Gras should be cold (50s) but dry.   Stay tuned!
