Retirement Blues...

All right already.  Enough is enough!  Ever since I retired on March 2nd, the weather has pretty much sucked!  We’ve had tornadoes, historic North Shore Floods and not a lot of dry, sunny days.  I did have one nice 2 day fishing trip but my golf has suffered due to lack of playing.  The one time I tried, we got rained out after 9 holes.  What’s a man to do?  Go back to work?  NEVER!  Especially with another stormy period approaching for the next 2-3 days.   I certainly don’t miss the long hours staying late for severe weather.   As usual, another upper disturbance is the culprit, but it will not be one clean system.   We will  see several disturbances trigger waves of storms with the timing being the key uncertainty.    SPC doesn’t seem to think this will be a huge tornado outbreak and tornado activity for the month of March nationwide is below normal.   As we get into April & May, the tornado threat lifts away from the Gulf Coast and pulls northward with the jet stream.  Doesn’t mean we don’t need to pay attention, but our threat becomes more flooding rain events due to slow moving or stalling cold fronts.  Hopefully this next front keeps moving and brings us a pleasantly cool & dry weekend.  Stay tuned!

On a sad note, Patty Duke died today at 69. She brought happiness to millions and , later in life revealed her struggles with bi-polar depression, helping many understand they were not alone with that disease.    Never waste a day as we do not know when tomorrow will never come.

I don't know why...but I Love the rain here. I'm from Michigan, been here for 2 years...The skies are so tranquil and the rain speaks softly. Too noisy to enjoy in Detroit lol!
