It's Almost Here...

90+ temperatures into late October is a bit much even for a warm weather freak like me.  I pulled out my sweaters & cold weather gear 10 days ago thinking(stupidly) that our long lingering summer was over.   But noooo furnace breath!   Summer hung on.  Finally the change most of us have been waiting for is hours away.  It won’t be drastic at first, 10-15 degrees, but the feel of the air will be so much better as lower humidity filters in.  Nighttime lows will dip into the 40s & 50s allowing us to wear sweaters & jackets, but daytime highs in the 70s will feel absolutely great.    Yet another, stronger cold front is coming for the following weekend as our change of seasons begins to pick up some momentum.

There is yet another research report out claiming that the frequency of intense typhoons is increasing in the Pacific due to climate change.   Here’s my problem with that.   Why just in the Pacific?    If it were due to the warmer climate CYCLE, one would think it would be in both hemispheres.   Same goes for the melting of the Arctic ice.  Why is the Antarctic ice field the greatest on record?   Hey, I don’t have all the answers, but I do have lots of questions regarding what is the DRIVER of our current climate CYCLE?  I believe it’s not the simple answer of CO 2 and/or human driven influences.     To be continued…
