I haven’t blogged lately because the weather has been dull. We have just ended a wonderful January with more highs in the 70s than a typical February. When will the “other shoe drop”? You know the change to colder is coming and it is not a reach to say it will probably come during the last 2-3 weeks in February. Bad timing since Mardi Gras is Feb. 28th. I can almost promise much cooler weather for the parades so don’t put away the coats & sweaters yet. The good news? Days are getting longer & the sun angle is getting higher. We have about another 3 weeks to worry about a hard freeze on the South Shore as once beyond Feb. 20th, we can still get a light freeze but history tells us the days below 28 degrees are over.
Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day. As David mentioned this evening, there is ZERO scientific basis on whether this critter sees his shadow or not. It doesn’t matter. It’s just a fun day that the media loves to talk about. I will see my shadow tomorrow on the golf course. Hopefully that will mean lower scores?!!! Stay tuned!
