Hurrah For Houston...

Normally I’m a National League fan as that’s where my Cubbies are.  However, this year I was not pulling for the Dodgers , but instead I wanted  the American League Champion Houston Astros to win.  Why?  Just as New Orleans needed the Saints to win the Super Bowl after Katrina, Houston needed the Astros to win after Hurricane Harvey.  Sports fans unite behind their team and a community affected by tragedy needs that type of unity.  Houston Strong resonated with me.   So I salute the Astros as World Champions and the Dodgers for showing true grit.  What a series!

What a turnaround from our brief cool spell.   Gone are highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s & 40s replaced by highs in the 80s with lows in the 60s.  There is some cold air up north, but there are no signs of it coming our way for the next 7-10 days.    Even looking up to Alaska finds no real cold air as most highs stayed above freezing.   Some where the bottom will drop out and real Winter cold will arrive here.  But in the short term, keep the tank tops & shorts out with zero need for sweaters & jackets.

There are hints that another storm may try to form down in the Caribbean next week.   Will we get to Rina?   Stay tuned!
