Riding the Wave...

As often happens during late Fall & Winter, we see extreme up & downs in temperatures.  Such is what we’ll see during the next 7 days.   Between now and Saturday, highs will be flirting with 80+ before a strong cold front drops us back below normal for Sunday through Tuesday.  We’ll go from shorts and tank tops back to sweaters and jackets.  Beyond 10 days, there are signs that an even stronger cold front will sweep through during the week of Thanksgiving.  The cold air (-20+) is building over northern Canada and any deep East Coast trough will dive that air southward.   It could be an interesting December for much of the Great Lakes, East Coast & deep South.

 

Big headlines in USA TODAY…”Biblical deluges RE BECOMING MORE LIKELY”.   Seems a “peer reviewed” article by Dr. Kerry Emanual of MIT says the Hurricane Harvey floods will become 3 times more likely by 2100.  Does anyone question this info?  Absolutely not.  After all, Dr. Emanual is “widely regarded as the world’s leading hurricane expert.”   By whom?   The Climate “experts” of course.  This is the same Dr. Emanual who claimed 20 years ago that global warming would make for more frequent & intense hurricanes.  Except that hasn’t happened.  But let’s not let facts get in the way of a good story.   The Hurricane Harvey floods were caused by a stalled storm ( that has happened many times in the past) that had NOTHING to do with global warming.     If you look at the AGW crowd, they claim every extreme weather event is because of global warming.  Geez, they can never be wrong.  Look at the time frame…”by 2100” .   Heck I’ll be 153 years old by then!   Issue a statement that can’t be verified and the press jumps on it.   And you wonder why many question what the media tells us is “the truth”.
