Don't Pinch Me, Let Me Keep Dreaming Into Summer...

As this is my 40th Spring here in NOLA, I just don't remember any other being this nice for such long stretches at a time.  Sure there were dry Aprils, but how many saw the number of cool fronts that keep our temps mainly below normal?  Sure we had fronts into May (remember the big floods of '78, '95?), but this year seems to be an unusually comfortable Spring.  That can be traced to the persistent upper trough over the Great lakes & eastern states.   The current slow moving cut off upper low is now in NE Tennessee and will finally lift out tomorrow kicked out by our next upper disturbance that will bring us some clouds and showers for Thursday PM.  Yet another upper system follows for Friday, but it won't have any moisture to work with.   It all means Friday-Sunday should be dry with very pleasant daytime temps and comfy cool nights.  Jazz Fest & the Zurich Classic Golf Tourney should have great weather.

I noticed tonight that there is no snow falling in the lower 48.  The folks up north just want some better weather so they can play baseball.  So far this April, there have been more games cancelled than in any previous April.  Of course for us, our focus is on basketball where the Pelicans have made watching the playoffs exciting again.   Can another miracle happen?  As Jim Henderson once said..."Pigs really can Fly!"   Go Pels !!!
