From Puerto Vallarta With Love...

No cell phone, no stress, no problem!  After visiting my good friends Mark (celebrating B-Day 59 1/2!) & Ivan down in Puerto Vallarta for 6 days, it's back to reality.

Not that it's ugly here, it's just that we don't have topography. The views at elevation are spectacular and I even saw whales splashing down below only 100+ yards offshore.   Since I didn't see any TV, I have no idea what the weather was like here  last week.  So I'll begin with a picture centered on where I was and then the weather streaming in from the Pacific that will make the next 36-48 hours nasty at times.

At this time of the year, it's all about parade weather.   Today is the warmest day (80-ish) this week with Wednesday slightly cooler (60s).   There is a slight chance for some showers for tomorrow night's parades, with way higher chances during the day on Thursday when the temperature will be noticeably colder (50s to 40s).  Friday, Saturday into Sunday look dry with a few showers possible on Monday.  Fat Tuesday should be dry until after dark.   Now the temperatures...Friday will struggle to get into the 50s with 40s by parade time.  Saturday will begin cold (40s) warming to near 60+ during the PM,  Sunday through Tuesday should be in the 60s so most of the parades look to roll dry.   For 30 years I would give the "official" Endymion forecast at 7 pm on the Tuesday before the parade.  I would feel confident this year in saying it should be near perfect weather Saturday night with the exception perhaps of being too chilly (50s).

There still is lots of super cold (25-30 below zero) air in Canada and some of that has spilled across the northern tier of states.  You can see the chill coming for Thursday & Friday as Dallas & Oklahoma City are in the 50s.   Give us another 10-14 days and we'll be beyond the time for a hard freeze.   But for the next 7, the focus is on our rain chances, which now appear highest on Thursday.  Stay tuned!
