A Long Time Waiting For Mr. Sun...

We are in day three with no sunshine and based on the satellite view, it appears Sunday will be day 4. Maybe, once a warm front pulls to our north, we could see some breaks Sunday PM but Monday looks to be the day we'll see some sunny breaks.

The surface weather map has a seasonally cold high east of Chicago with a developing storm coming out of the Rockies.  A stationary front is just south of the Louisiana coast and that will begin heading northward tomorrow.

It will get real windy during the day on Sunday into Monday, and since the direction will be out of the south, we'll see temps soar into the mid to upper 70s.  There will be a Spring-like feel to the air for the start of next week.  As the upper low pulls by on Monday, it'll drag a weak cold front by us, but there will be little cool air behind it.

A stronger cold front will arrive on Thursday bringing back the sweaters and jackets.  There still is no super cold Arctic air even up in Canada or Alaska.   We still have several weeks left for a hard freeze to happen, but I see no signs of that in the 10-14 day time frame.

The top view shows it is finally raining in souther California while the others are views of the ice free Great Lakes.   Those of you who don't believe we are in a warming cycle need to check out the data.  hard to dispute facts.

Finally, Hank Aaron died yesterday at age 86.   I was fortunate to see him when he started in Milwaukee and then in Atlanta.   What a true gentleman of the game.  My favorite all time player was Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks.   Growing up on the south side of Chicago (Hammond), I even got an autograph of him.  Ernie would always say, "Let's play two"!   Two terrific gentle men.    Stay tuned!
