Big Boomers Getting Close...

The late afternoon storms I talked about in my earlier post took a little longer to get going.  However, they sprung up just off our coast south of Cocodrie and have since moved inland over Houma and are approaching the city from the SW.  This will be a South Shore event as their motion should keep them away from the North Shore.  Some training of echoes means we could see 2-3" in spots causing some street flooding between now and 10 pm.

There is lots of lightning and thunder with these storms along with some brief downpours.  These storms represent the tale end of that stubborn upper low that has finally lifted into Arkansas heading to the NE away from us.

Monday looks to be mostly warm and dry before another round of storms arrive ahead our the next system over the Rockies.

That system will bring a real cold front (perhaps our last till October?) with noticeably cooler and drier air making for a delightful end of the week into next weekend.   But we have to get through some heavy storms late Tuesday into Wednesday.  In the short term, after tonight's boomers, Monday should be dry into most of Tuesday.  Because of that, I'm going fishing with Captain Hylton and won't post tomorrow.  I'll be back late Tuesday.  Stay tuned!

On a sad note, Bruce Katz lost one of his brothers last week.  Please add the Katz families to your prayer lines.
