Here They Go Again, No Tropical Development in Gulf

So on Facebook I see more posts that try to bring the moisture from T.S. Christina into the southern Gulf this weekend.  Why are they trying to scare folks when the threat is not there?  I guess if you cry wolf often enough, the wolf will one day come.  Remember, even a broken clock is right twice a day!

NHC is having no part of it and indicates the next 7 days (at least) will have no tropical development in the Atlantic Basin.  Let me show you why both Boris & Christina have not strengthened. (Two white circles.

I've drawn the upper flow on the Water Vapor view.  Note there is an upper high to the north of both storms with screaming northerly winds of Boris & Christina.

Further to the north over the Gulf, a weak upper low is near us that might allow some pop-up showers.  But all in all, this is an extremely hostile environment for tropical formation and it's why NHC says nothing will happen.  So relax Gang.  My next podcast tomorrow will focus on early season lack of development.  Go to bobbreck.com to sign up.  Stay tuned!
