Near Record Warmth Coming...

Since we have no fronts coming until Monday and an upper level ridge is expected to strengthen over us, we could flirt with record highs the next 2-3 days. The next question is...when will we get our 1st 90 degree day? Historically, the earliest 90 at MSY is April 17th (91 in 2006), but Audubon saw a 90 on March 23, 1929. Typically we start seeing daily 90+ from late May into early June. Our current "heat wave" will last until our next front arrives on Monday. Until then, we will stay "almost hot" & humid and mostly dry. It should be a great weekend for the outdoor festivals, if you don't mind the humidity...we don't have to shovel humidity !
