Waiting for Harvey, Irene, Jose...

There are at least 6 clusters of T-storms out over the Caribbean & Atlantic tonight that could become our next named storms. The good news is the blocking upper ridge and persistent east coast trough show no signs of leaving us soon. So for the next 7-10 days we may watch tropical activity, but it can't come here. The latest GFS run again flipped-flopped on bringing a system into the Gulf for the last weekend in August. It now goes just east of MIA and up the east coast. Way too soon to worry about something not there yet. I think I've said that before! Stay tuned.

In the short term, a slow return of Gulf mositure coupled with intense daytime heating could trigger a few PM T-Storms. That is are only relief from the August heat that once again will be in the mid-upper 90s for the rest of this week.
