Low in Gulf Sunday-Monday...

Today's models continue to hint of a surface low forming over the NW Gulf on Sunday and moving eastward offshore of our coast by Monday.  With upper level winds from the SW remaining strong, this system will refelect more of a winter-like feature(cold core) bringing a widespread rain shield.    The potential for several inches of rainfall is there until the system scurries to our east by late Tuesday.  It's HIGHLY UNLIKELY that a tropical system (warm core) could develop so the name Oscar will have to wait a while longer.  Stay tuned!

In the short term, we had a few heavy showers around this PM and that should be the case again on Friday,  Rain chances will go up over the weekend so if you have outdoor plans ( golf, tennis, fishing picnic etc), you may need to have an indoor alternative (bowling, sports on TV-Ryder Cup).  Enjoy the weekend whether it rains or shines.
