Freeze Warnings Expanded...

Unless I missed a day, looking back at last winter saw only one day at MSY that got down to 32.  That's it, only one all Winter!  I don't see where that will be the case this year.  NWS has expanded the freeze warnings to include the South Shore tonight, but the winds coming across the 57 degree waters of Lake P. will keep MSY above 32.   Longer range models are still bringing a much colder pattern to the lower 48 during the Christmas week & that includes the Gulf South.  Wat too soon to know if we'll have moisture around when the temps get down to freezing.  Stay tuned!

After a frosty start on Thursday, our slow warming trend will begin as highs should get back above normal/average by Friday and into the 70s for Saturday & Sunday.  Our next strong front arrives on Monday with some T-Storms followed by another front later in the week.  Hopefully some of these systems will bring much needed rainfall to the drought areas north of us.
