Mardi Gras Will Roll...

Mother Nature often throws a curve when you expect a fastball, but tonight's models indicate the heaviest rains again on Fat Tuesday will stay north and west of Lake Pontchartrain.  In fact, as a warm front lifts out of the Gulf, temps could rebound into the mid to upper 70s by the noon hour, before some storms develop ahead of a cold front that arrives after dark.   Timing is everything.  Prepare for some showers as NWS is calling for 80% chance, but expect many dry hours too.  80% chance for rain does not mean it will rain 80% of the time.  It's a point forecast and refers more to location and not to time.  Happy Mardi Gras and stay safe.

Looking down the road, another stronger front will sweep thru on Saturday bringing maybe the coldest air of the season.  We might even see a freeze south of Lake P.  Stay tuned!
