Noah? Noah? Might Need the Ark Again !!!

The final rainfall figures are in and MSY ended April 2013 as the 5th wettest ever (11.62")  Several of our weather obsevers had 15-17"+ especially on the South Shore.   That's part of the reason NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the South Shore thru Thursday PM.   A slow moving upper disturbance will drift over us on Wednesday bringing the POTENTIAL of 3-5"+ more rainfall on already saturated soils.  By Thursday the upper system will sag to our east getting us on the drier side, but more showers could linger.  Another deep upper trough will bring a cold front thru early on Friday hopefully taking all the rain with it.  This weekend will be pleasantly cool with highs in the 70s for the final weekend of JazzFest.

FYI...I'm reading information about this Spring (Mar-May) is on pace to be the coldest in over 200 years for the lower 48 states.   Any of you heard about that?    I didn't think so.   Also, it's one of the lowest tornado seasons ever.  I thought AGW would bring stronger, more frequent tornado outbreaks?   Hummm, something doesn't seem right does it?
