Polar Vortex JR.

Another plunge of Arctic air (Polar Vortex JR.) is rumbling out of Canada tonight and will sweep off the LA/MS coasts before dawn on Wednesday.  Highs in the middle 60s today with little wind will feel much colder Wednesday (47-51) with stiff NNW winds 12-22+.  Wind chills will make it feel like in the 30s requiring heavy coats once again.  Two things are working in our favor compared to last’s week’s Outbreak (Polar Vortex 1).   1)  This coming air mass is not as frigid and 2) the snow pack has retreated/melted back farther to the north.   The North Shore will see temps. in the 20s Thursday & Saturday mornings with possibly 29-32 on the South Shore, but this should not be a pipe busting event.   A warm up begins Saturday PM into next week with another dry weekend on tap.

Direct TV has dropped The Weather Channel for a less expensive alternative (WeatherNation).  This will result in a loss of millions of $$$ to TWC.  Expect to see cutbacks especially in their climate warming agenda.   And they wanted Congress to intervene?  Sounds like free enterprise at work.
