Hottest Week of Summer 2014 Coming...

This Summer so far has seen the usual warmth we expect, but not the brutal heat of some past summers.    That is likely to change by mid week as an upper ridge (high pressure) is predicted to build right on top of us resulting in few, if any, cooling daytime storms and highs soaring into the mid to upper 90s.  The heat index will top 105-110 making for dangerous conditions outside between noon & 6 pm.  Caution/ common sense should be used if you are working  outdoors during those hours.   Compared to the hottest summer of 2011, we have had only 2 days of highs 95+ vs 39 in 2011.  Wow!  What a difference.   Whatever, after this week we will be looking more forward to September cold front than ever.

The Tropics still remain quiet with several waves out in the Atlantic showing little signs of development.   Water Vapor continues to show a strong T.U.T.T from the Atlantic across the Caribbean into the Gulf.   Hostile environment for tropical development.  Stay tuned!
